‘Emily’ Gets James Patrick Stuart

Emily is about to get her man — or at least one of them. The Hollywood Reporter says that James Patrick Stuart has signed on to be part of the upcoming Heather Graham sitcom, “Emily’s Reasons Why Not.”

While New York writer Emily scours sex in the big city, Stuart’s character will be causing some conflict, as a consultant for her publisher.

Stuart is a veteran of TV, guest starring on everything from “Seinfeld” to “Medium.” He was also a regular on Fox’s “Andy Richter Controls the Universe” and had parts in the films “Gods and Generals” and “Pretty Woman.”

Heather Graham’s recipe for love

Heather Graham is a confirmed romantic. “I believe in love. What else is life for if it isn’t for love,” says Graham.

For Graham, romantic love “begins with a love for yourself. You can’t love another person properly if you don’t love yourself.”

Though she is not currently in a relationship, Graham is adamant she has not given up on romance.

New Canadian big-screen film ‘Cake’ confronts modern relationship dilemmas

When it comes to romance and independence, can you have your cake and eat it, too?

That’s the question posed by a new romantic comedy called Cake, which opens in theatres across Canada on Friday. It’s Canadian in that it was written, produced and directed by homegrown talent, although two bankable American stars – Heather Graham and Taye Diggs – have been cast in the leads.
