Adam Ant: “Angel Heather Saved My Life”

British pop singer ADAM ANT has revealed how the relationship he had with Hollywood actress HEATHER GRAHAM saved him from depression and suicide. The PRINCE CHARMING star, real name STUART LESLIE GODDARD, met Graham when she was a 24-year-old drama student in 1993. And the troubled musician, who was dealing with deep depression and panic attacks at the time, soon fell deeply in love with Graham, calling her his “angel”. But although he insists she Goddard says, “With her pure blue eyes and gentle smile, Heather seemed like an angel to me. She was beautiful but unaffected by the effect she had on men. “I was instantly mesmerised. This was serious. It didn’t create the usual desire to run a mile when a relationship got serious. My diary is full of love for Heather – I was using the word without fear.” “When I was with her I felt happy. But the rest of the time I suffered bouts of depression and fear. I was scared of losing Heather.”

Nantucket Film Fest scores ‘Coup’

Heather Graham will join “Big Love” ladies Mary Kay Place and Tina Majorino, “West Wing” star Jimmy Smits and many more boldfacers here this weekend at the Nantucket Film Festival, where they’ll perform a reading of the screenplay, “Coup de Tat.”

The script, written by Tinseltown twosome and Connecticut College alums Lisa Addario and Joe Syracuse, is about a 16-year-old girl whose pen pal is a Latin American dictator. When the rebel without a country is overthrown, he takes up residence in the girl’s garage. Hilarity, naturally, ensues.

’1/9′ – In Focus

Thank you to Russell for the heads up on the following article regarding Heather’s upcoming film, 1/9.

“Because of mass communication and mass transportation, the world is getting smaller, but we’re not necessarily getting closer or making more meaningful connections as a result,” says Alfredo De Villa (Washington Heights) of his third feature, 1/9, a New York ensemble drama about people with little in common besides a subway line who form unexpected and life-changing bonds. The film weaves three intersecting tales about a young photographer (Victor Rasuk), a couple estranged after the loss of a child (Heather Graham and William Baldwin) and a doorman, also an artist, who may be going blind (The Sopranos’ Dominic Chianese). “They are all blatantly unaware of their internal conflicts until they experience personal crises and the disruption of their habits leads to epiphanies,” says De Villa. “I wanted to make a movie where plot was secondary, never imposed on the characters, and where powerful emotions were explored in the ellipses. You get a sense as the movie ends that the real dramatic climax is a few days later.” He wrote 1/9 with Nat Moss, his co-screenwriter on Heights and 2000 Sundance Lab project Angel.
